AQUAFEST was a community-wide, family event, to raise funds for Milfoil control, the Belgrade Conservation Corps, and numerous watershed-wide programs to improve water quality

 

WHAT?            AQUAFEST is a community-wide, family event, featuring:
Dinner On Golden Pond with author Ernest Thompson and Antique Wooden Boat Show 
Fun Run, Walk, Crawl or Creep - - all Ages Invited and Dogs, too
Kid’s Corner Challenge:
Rides on the Melinda Ann, T-Shirt Painting, Damselfly Survey, Letterboxing, Geocaching Games, Watershed Model, Stream and Lake Critters, Rainy Day Relay, Invasive Fish Game, and Others
Includes Prize Events for Kids, ages 1 to 5, 6 to 9, and 10 to 12
Shopping Opportunities at Village Shops, the Farmers’ Market, and Art Mart
Family Picnic Barbecue and Swim Time
Kayak/Canoe Race                Sailboat Race              Sea Plane Rides

WHEN?            July 9, 2010  – 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm—Dinner and Antique Wooden Boat Show

                        July 10, 2010 – 9 to 4 pm—Family Festival

WHO?        The lake associations for East, Great, Long, McGrath, Messalonskee, North, and Salmon lakes, working together as the Lake Trust of the Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance (BRCA).  Lake Trust programs include Milfoil control, the Conservation Corps, and the Watershed Working Group to improve water quality.
