We invite you to join with hundreds of your neighbors and many visitors to our area by supporting the first annual Belgrade Watershed AQUAFEST on Friday and Saturday, August 29th and 30th, 2008. AQUAFEST is a family-oriented community event for runners, walkers, swimmers and kayakers from the thirteen towns of our watershed and beyond. It is hosted by the five lake associations of East, Great, Long, McGrath, Messalonskee, North and Salmon lakes.

Whether we live beside these lakes or in the next town, the decisions we make about how to live, work and play affect the seven “Beautiful Belgrades.”  AQUAFEST is a watershed-wide celebration designed to raise awareness and funds for programs to protect water quality and improve everyone’s enjoyment of these renowned lakes.

AQUAFEST is hosted by the lake associations:
Belgrade Lakes Association, East Pond Association
North Pond Association, Salmon Lake and McGrath Pond Association, and the Snow Pond-Messalonskee Lake Associationworking together as the
Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance Lake Trust. Lake Trust programs include Courtesy Boat Inspections, Invasive Plant Surveys, the Conservation Corps, and a Working Group to improve and stabalize water quality by limiting Phosphorus enrichment of our lakes.
